AgroSystemsAI

Our Technology

An integrated autonomous system designed for the unique challenges of steep-terrain specialty crop harvesting.

Why Existing Robots Can't Do This

Current agricultural robots are designed for flat, structured environments

Existing Platforms

  • Wheeled UGVs limited to 20-25° slopes
  • Designed for flat, structured rows (corn, wheat, orchards)
  • Require GPS and cloud connectivity
  • Cannot operate under dense canopy
  • Harvest entire plants, not selective

Our Approach

  • Designed for 30-45° natural slopes
  • Navigates unstructured terrain with rows as narrow as 4ft and 2-6ft tree spacing
  • Fully autonomous, off-cloud operation
  • Multi-sensor perception in variable light and dense foliage
  • Selectively picks only ripe cherries

Three Integrated Capabilities

Steep-Terrain Autonomous Mobility

Our platform navigates slopes of 30-45 degrees — terrain that exceeds the limits of commercial robotic systems. Using sensor fusion and adaptive locomotion, the robot moves safely through uneven, natural ground under dense tree canopy without relying on cloud connectivity or GPS.

AI-Powered Perception

On-device machine learning models classify coffee cherry ripeness in real time — distinguishing ripe, unripe, and overripe fruit under challenging conditions including heavy shade, variable lighting, and dense foliage. The same vision system assesses tree health and provides actionable data back to the farmer.

Selective Harvesting

Unlike strip-harvesting machines that take everything, our system selectively picks only ripe cherries — preserving crop quality and protecting the plant for future yields. Custom-designed end-effectors handle the small, fragile fruit with precision, minimizing damage rates while maximizing harvest efficiency.

Farmer Decision Support

Beyond harvesting, our AI generates insights about crop health, ripeness distribution, and yield predictions. The system detects diseases like anthracnose and coffee leaf rust, identifies insect infestations, and flags chemical imbalances — giving farmers early warnings to address issues quickly before they spread, saving trees and protecting the crop.

Farmers receive clear, actionable feedback about irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and harvest timing without needing to manually inspect every tree on dangerous slopes.

Built for Coffee. Designed to Scale.

Our technology is validated on coffee, but the core capabilities — steep-terrain mobility, vision under canopy, and selective harvesting — apply to other specialty crops including tea, cacao, and wine grapes.
